Some patients may experience problems with their temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Some symptoms may include pain in the jaw muscles and the ear, headaches, locking of the jaw and joint sounds.
We offer a TMJ exam that evaluates the joint tissue in the "hinge" of the jaw. Possible problems include swelling, deteriorating, or damaged joint tissue which cushions the jaw bones during the opening and closing of the mouth.
Dr. Torrado has studied at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. The institute stresses the importance of healthy joints (TMJ). Although this remains a controversial dental subject. We would examine both your joint and your bite to determine if there is a correlation in your case that requires treatment. |
