Partial Dentures

Dental patient and team member smilingFor patients who have numerous consecutive or nonconsecutive missing teeth, we may recommend a partial denture. Partials are used to fill in the gaps between healthy teeth leaving smiles whole and healthy. If you’ve lost one or more teeth, contact Dr. Laura Torrado to schedule a tooth replacement consultation in our Central Park South dental office. We welcome patients from Manhattan, Queens, and New Jersey.

Partials are made of gum colored bases that support replacement teeth. The base material is made from a combination of metal and acrylic or a pure acrylic. The acrylic base partials are softer, so they are not used for long-term tooth replacement. Instead, we typically recommend a combination metal-acrylic base. These partials are sturdier and create a stable solution.

High quality replacement teeth are attached to the base. This custom partial denture is held in place using metal clasps. Partials are removable, so you can clean them and rest more comfortably at night. We also offer dental implant supported fixed bridges.

There are numerous benefits to replacing missing teeth with a partial denture including:

  • Preventing unnecessary dental shifting that may lead to severe misalignment or further tooth loss
  • Retaining natural tooth structures rather than removing all teeth for a full denture
  • Improving the clarity of speech and ability to chew thoroughly
